Elementary Age – Advanced Painting Class
In this class, students will explore several mediums: painting (acrylic & watercolor), pastels, and collages. They will learn the basics of composition and learn how to ignite their creativity. There will be a snack break along with some other breaks to help keep the students focused and make it an all-around fun experience while developing their art skills. We also provide portfolio courses for students going into high school and college.

Adult Painting Class (Instructor: Zhen Wu)

Exploring the ideas of color theory, composition, and use of the acrylic oil medium.

Drawing Class

This course is intended for candidates that are interested in learning the skills of drawing human faces and cartooning. This course will provide an introduction to traditional and contemporary principles of drawing. Students will gain a greater working knowledge of line, contour, shading, texture, perspective, proportion, and composition.

This class will focus on getting you to become more familiar with your camera, as well as editing, to make your photos more explosive. We will spend time learning the functions of your camera (DSLR required — no point and shoots, please), as well as the basic principles of ISO, exposure, and aperture. My goal will be to get you comfortable enough with your camera to stop shooting on Program.

We will have weekly photo assignments, with instruction and critique the following week. Don’t wait until it’s too late to learn how to capture your special moments or to set the artist in you free.

(ages 4 – adult)

This class will teach students to lay a foundation to understand the significance of rhythm in all music. Also, they will become familiar with the two basic sounds of a drum: bass & tone- and be able to incorporate then make into a basic, traditional rhythm.  

Summer lessons are also offered.

(ages 4 – adult)

This course is about learning basic chords and scales, and their relationship with each other. Students will explore different types of chords and learn where, when and how to use them. As well as basic strumming and picking practices. They will be encouraged to try different styles but will also be able to learn how to play your favorite songs and help build up a skill set to begin writing your own music.

Plan 1: 30-minute private lesson every week.
Plan 2: 45-minute private lesson every week.
Plan 3: 1-hour private lesson every week.

Summer lessons are also offered.

(ages 3 – adult)

Confidence, coordination, and concentration are developed by learning theory, keyboard technique, and performance skills. Skills that enable a student to enjoy music for a lifetime. Students will have the opportunity to perform in our winter and spring recitals.

Plan 1: 30-minute private lesson every week.
Plan 2: 45-minute private lesson every week.
Plan 3: 1-hour private lesson every week.

(ages 5 – adult)
Suzuki Violin- This approach to learning the violin begins with the “mother-tongue” idea: listen, watch, and do. Children’s abilities are cultivated by listening to beautiful music. Through constant repetition of pieces, old skills are strengthened and new ones gained. There will be individual lessons as well as class lessons designed specifically to fulfill each pupil’s need.

Traditional instruction is also available.

Summer lessons are also offered.

The voice lessons are taught with care for the developing voice. Students focus on resonance, breath control, intonation, and development of high and low registers.  The  Lessons prepare the vocal student to perform appropriate repertoire ranging from the classical to Broadway styles and help the student to learn how to sing properly in order to prevent damage to the vocal cords, to maximize the singer’s vocal performance.
