Adult Figurative/Portrait Workshop with Daniel Helzer
Daniel Helzer graduated from the Colorado Institute of Arts and pursued a career in the illustration which eventually led to fine art. A member of the OPA, he instructs workshops and teaches classes in painting and drawing at the Nevada Museum of Art.
Primarily a portrait and figure painter, Daniel’s major influences come from the works of the Russian Impressionists, such as Nicolai Fechin, Sergei Bongart, and Nikolai Blokhin.
In his workshop, Daniel will demonstrate his approach to painting starting with a painting demo. Processes, techniques, and ideas will be discussed and illustrated on canvas. Afterwards, students will be given painting exercises to explore the teachings firsthand. At the end of the workshop, all the lessons will culminate in a final painting from a life model.
